Initially, the company provided radio-based communication infrastructure to emergency services, a field that requires mission-critical “always on” communication capabilities.
As a result of this service the company developed the most extensively available privately owned Wireless network in KwaZulu Natal. The expansion of the company into an Internet Service Provider that carried over the philosophy of “always on” connectivity to the provision of highly reliable Internet connectivity was a logical step forward.
At present Webstorm is a Second Tier Internet Service Provider and is one of a select group of ISP’s to have been offered a Value Added Network Service Provider (VANS) License by the government. This means that the company is considered to be sufficiently excellent, both in terms of cutting edge technology and service/support provision to provide services above and beyond the norm in a reliable fashion. Webstorm provides support to numerous third tier ISP’s and is acknowledged to be a technological leader in it’s field.
However, unlike the vast majority of our competitors Webstorm delivers connectivity across the full range of spectra – analog and digital telecommunications, wireless ground wave and satellite. This means that we can design and support a solution that is customized to the specific needs of the client that we are dealing with, and we can provide that solution in a cost-effective manner with experienced support staff. Webstorm is one of the very few ISP’s in Southern Africa that can honestly lay claim to being able to provide clients with an integrated, secure “ubiquitous” computing solution that will seamlessly integrate their entire operation in terms of data management and control.
The company also engages in software development and provides both specialised and general hardware support to its extensive client base. Webstorm will only accept an installation or support commission if we are sure that we can deliver what the client desires.
