Durban gets true broadband

[Johannesburg, 24 July 2009] - A taste of true broadband access speeds were experienced yesterday when the Tertiary Education Network (Tenet) downloaded the first test data over its network, connecting the Seacom cable with the Durban University of Technology (DUT).

Illustrating how fast this is, it is the equivalent of downloading a full-length DVD movie in 3.5 seconds.

ED... It is harmful and addictive in the nicest way. Webstorm still warns parents to monitor Internet usage of children!

Inspirational Quote of the week

"Ordinary people believe only in the possible.

Extraordinary people visualize not what is possible or probable, but rather what is impossible.

And by visualizing the impossible, they begin to see it as possible."

Joke for the week

Madiba died and went to Heaven. St. Peter was giving him a tour of Heaven when he noticed that there were dozens of clocks on the wall.

Each clock displayed a different time of day. When he asked St. Peter about the clocks, he replied,"we have a clock for each person on earth and every time they tell a lie the hands move. The clock ticks off one second each time a lie is told."

Special attention was given to two clocks. The clock belonging to Mother Teresa has never moved, indicating that she never told a lie. The clock for Princess Diana has only moved twice. She only told two lies in her life.

Madiba asked "Where is George Bush's clock going to be?" St. Peter replied "Jesus is having it installed in his office...He is going to use it as a ceiling fan."
